Joe Marks grew up in a culture in which alcohol was glorified. Both his parents were alcoholics, and every event included alcohol. In long-term recovery, Joe has a unique perspective that he freely incorporated into his work managing a halfway house and later working with coalitions. Joe believes that preventing one person from becoming an addict can impact an entire community. He considers giving youth and young adults the chance to make the right decisions is an obligation we all have, and being a Talk It Out NC Ambassador allows him to do just that. Joe enjoys nurturing relationships between local organizations.
