NC ABC Commission to Join NC Parent Resource Center and Lt. Governor Dan Forest for 11th Annual NC Substance Abuse Prevention Conference
Issue of Underage Drinking Among Topics to Be Addressed
WHAT: |
The NC ABC Commission will join the NC Parent Resource Center and Lt. Governor Dan Forest for the 11th Annual NC Substance Abuse Prevention Conference. The Conference provides an opportunity for prevention/treatment professionals, substance abuse coalition participants, school counselors, social workers, parents and community members to collaborate and learn valuable information related to adolescent substance use prevention and how to positively impact their communities. NC ABC Commission Chairman Jim Gardner will present an update on the Commission’s Talk It Out campaign, a new statewide campaign designed to raise awareness of the issue of underage drinking in North Carolina, and Lt. Governor Forest’s keynote address will shed new light on why underage drinking is a much more significant problem at a much younger age than many parents may think that it is. The Commission will also lead a session on what it’s role is in preventing underage drinking and how it’s working to do that through numerous coalitions across the state. |
